Artist--Lynn Yoder Lynn
biography header
Lynn Yoder discovered an ability to draw at nine years of age. He copied wildlife pictures from children's magazines with considerable accuracy. He developed his liking for art and won numerous awards in local art shows. In High School, he learned to paint portraits in oils and produced pen and ink drawings for publication.

Lynn graduated from Garrett College in 2000 with an A.A. degree in Fine and Performing Arts. With a full scholarship he attended Frostburg State University, where he majored in Art and Design with a focus in painting and graphic design. He graduated in 2002 with a B.F.A. degree and Departmental Honors.

Lynn exhibits at various locations and events. Showplaces have included Frostburg State University, Garrett College, Frostburg City Hall, and the Springs Folk Festival. He is a member of the Allegany Area Art Alliance and Allegany Arts Council. Giclee prints of his work can be seen and purchased at the Manhattan Golf & Gallery (Cumberland, MD), Rocky Gap Lodge (Cumberland), Penn Alps Craft Shop (Grantsville, MD), and Whispering Pines (Springs, PA). Purchasing can be done online at www.yoderart.com.

Lynn paints a variety of subjects and themes. Spiritual paintings are inspired by his vibrant faith in God. Images of musicians and their musical moods reflect a love for classical music. His landscape and wildlife images portray an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Foremost, Lynn enjoys depicting people whether in formal portraits or in paintings that show the figure in action or as part of a larger environment.

Lynn resides in Springs, Pa. He markets giclee reproductions of his oil paintings, teaches drawing and painting, and works as a custom designer and framer. View his work at www.yoderart.com.
