The painting, Violin, was meant to capture the structure and detail of a beautiful instrument. Borrowing a friend's violin allowed me to study the reflections, lights, and shadows firsthand. The musical notations on the page beneath the violin are based on a segment of Beethoven's Spring Sonata.
